Report
Technical innovation and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity continue to drive the evolution of the integration marketplace, leading to a market with a significantly different array of features and tools than what existed just 18 months ago. In the application and process integration arena, while some level of feature parity has been achieved between enterprise service buses (ESBs) and integration-centric business process management suites (IC-BPMSes) in some functional areas, key differences still remain in several others. Similarly, in the data integration space there has been some blurring of functional boundaries between extract, transform, and load (ETL) products, change data capture (CDC) tools, and information as a service (IaaS) offerings, though unique value propositions still exist for each of these solution categories as well. Enterprise architects should use the information provided in this report to guide their selection and use of the numerous integration products available to them.
