A wide range of vendors provides organizations with a complex array of commercial integration products and services. Forrester recently surveyed 167 application development and enterprise architecture managers and found that 10 vendors support more than 85% of their enterprise integration needs. We examined these firms' use of these integration solutions by size and industry and also considered how we expect open source technology to affect this market. Application development managers and enterprise architects should use this research for guidance when selecting integration vendor products and services and when defining road maps and strategies for which integration technologies and suppliers to employ in the coming years.
