Why Read This Report

Early in 2011, Forrester made a series of predictions about the future of cloud computing for that year. With 2012 now upon us, it's time to evaluate last year's predictions and introduce new prognostications. In 2012, Forrester predicts that cloud computing will move out of the shadows and become a mainstream technology. This means big changes in the test and development process, business intelligence, and corporate governance. CIOs need to look beyond their IT department and go even further — beyond the four walls of their corporate headquarters in order to make their cloud strategy a success. What happened to cloud in 2011 has paved the way for both improvement and regression in 2012.
