Strong authentication technologies have undergone lots of churn recently as new mobile-fueled technologies have come online and as regulations in the financial sector have tightened. At the same time, the classic hardware one-time password (OTP) token method has taken it on the chin in the face of damaging security breaches. In this session, we evaluate the popularity and efficacy — not the same thing! — of a variety of authentication methods that go beyond plain old passwords, from "bingo cards" and texted OTPs to biometrics and beyond, and we look at their affinities with different business use cases.
