Alex MacKnight is a Principal Architect at T-Mobile USA. His primary focus is on database security, identity and access management, and service-oriented architecture security. Mr. MacKnight has developed a comprehensive strategy for securing data, extending to encrypting and tokenizing sensitive data, segregation of duties enforcement, data masking, and database firewall. He has also designed the overall architecture for identity and access management for and led the implementation of an infrastructure to support more than 200 applications, serving more than 150,000 users.
Mr. MacKnight has more than 20 years of experience in information technology and has held various technical and management positions at renowned companies, such as Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, REI, and Starbucks. He has lived and worked in South America and Europe, leading groups responsible for developing and implementing mission-critical enterprise applications.
Mr. MacKnight attended the School of Science and Technology at Universidade Santa Ursula in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and he has certificates in software security and advanced computer security from Stanford University.
