Security Researcher, HP DVLabs
Brian Gorenc is a Senior Security Researcher for HP TippingPoint Digital Vaccine Laboratories (DVLabs). His primary responsibility is developing protection filters to address zero-day vulnerabilities, viruses, worms, Trojans, P2P, spyware, and other applications. Much of Mr. Gorenc's current research centers around discovering vulnerabilities in popular software and analyzing attack techniques to aid in signature development. Prior to joining HP, he worked for Lockheed Martin on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, where he led the development effort of the information assurance (IA) products in the JSF's mission planning environment.
He has in-depth knowledge of software vulnerabilities, secure coding, and software development techniques. Mr. Gorenc has an M.S. in software engineering from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in computer engineering from Texas A&M University. He also holds several certifications including ISC2's CISSP and CSSLP.
