    International Considerations For Information Archiving And Governance

    Enterprises face major challenges in effectively addressing information archiving and governance on a global basis. Application gaps, big variations in cross-border privacy, regulatory, and eDiscovery environments, as well as rapid adoption of emerging technologies in the context of surging electronically stored information are major obstacles to successful global programs. Adding to this complexity, decision-makers in different geographies approach information archiving and governance from very different perspectives. This presentation will:

    • Outline international information archiving and governance challenges.
    • Describe case studies on how enterprises tackle archiving, records management, and eDiscovery globally.
    • Provide best practices for successful worldwide programs.

Research Focus

Brian serves Security & Risk Professionals. He is a leading expert on eDiscovery, archiving strategies, records and retention management initiatives, and enterprise content management (ECM) endeavors.

Previous Work Experience

Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to Forrester from his marketing and consulting experiences. Most recently, Brian was director of marketing with EMC, responsible for archiving and compliance products within EMC's content management and archiving software division. He's also held marketing and strategic development roles at Oracle and spent more than a decade leading in-depth consulting engagements and business development initiatives.

Education

Brian earned a B.A. in political science from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a master's in international affairs from American University.
