EDP to MIS to IT to BT... technology has continuosly evolved... and permeated every part of the organization / enterprise.
Previously it used to be relegated to back office functions... you need some data processing to be done.. use computers it will be faster... Then slowly... all the reports started getting generated from IT systems... and now all the analysis is driven from IT systems.. Now every part of enterprise is connected using technology.. including customers and suppliers.. and every process within enterprise uses technology ... hence even Enterprise Technology - ET, Technology to manage the enterprise.... should make sense and reflect the evolving usage of technology within an enterprise..
