BT to iTOPS

A couple of decades back... IT was "Good to Have"; in the mid 90's IT became more prominent and became a "Must Have". Today, IT contributes beyond support and cost cutting. Cost cutting is passé and now remains a hygiene factor. IT now helps organizations to define their ¿competitive edge¿ and already has made its way into the board room decisions.
Convergence of IT and Strategy will give rise to a neo-demand of a delivery organization that integrates technology and operations. A business transaction will have technology as an integral part. And all processes, mission critical or otherwise- those which don¿t contribute to the competitive edge of an organization will be outsourced. (eg. Nike now only manages its brand, all other processes are outsourced)
So my suggestion to BT (Business Technology) to iTOPS (Integrated Technology and Operations)
