I agree wholeheartedly - the distinction between the Business and IT "camps" continues to be broken down and grow closer together. The bottom line is we are all working towards the best outcome for the organisation as a whole.
If the old "Business" function is about "Business Fulfillment" - the process of delivering the product and/or service of the organisation (its business) to the customer, then the IT function is focused on "Business Enablement" - to make possible, practical or easy the operation of the business.
