As Forrester's most senior telecommunications services analyst, Lisa Pierce is a recognized authority on enterprise-class telecommunications services. She follows leading facilities-based providers including AT&T and AT&T Mobility, Sprint Nextel, Qwest, Verizon, and Verizon Wireless; she also follows smaller facilities-based providers and virtual network operators that typically specialize in offering select enterprise-class telecommunications services.
Lisa covers US telecommunications/wide area network services, including US voice and data, landline and mobile, local and long-distance services. She is an expert on a number of emerging network services, including landline and wireless broadband access, VoIP, unified communications, MPLS, Ethernet services, fixed-mobile convergence 2.5/3G, and 4G services.
Lisa came to Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group. At Giga, Lisa was elected the first chair of the Research Fellows Council, Giga's most senior cadre of thought leaders. She is a frequent industry speaker and media commentator, appearing on CBS, CNN, CNBC, PBS, and NPR, and she has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Associated Press, the Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, BusinessWeek, and numerous trade publications. Previously a NetworkWorld biweekly columnist, she periodically contributes to Business Communications Review/No Jitter. A member of the IEEE, Lisa has more than 20 years of experience in business-class telecommunications services. Before joining Giga, while at Telecommunications Research Associates (TRA), she worked extensively with prominent industry vendors and providers on emerging protocol/service development and marketing issues. Prior to this, at AT&T she led and managed new service development efforts that created five new features, four of which are now patented. Lisa was also a key member of two earlier AT&T development teams that created service portfolios that still generate billions of dollars annually.
A Marquis Who’s Who of the World biographee, Lisa holds an M.B.A. in marketing and statistics from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University and a BA with honors in pre-law from Gordon College.
