Craig serves CIO professionals. He is a leading expert on deriving business value from IT. Craig helps Forrester clients use the Balanced Scorecard to measure and communicate IT performance and maximize the business value from their IT investments.Craig focuses his research on IT/business alignment, IT performance measurement, IT governance, IT portfolio management, IT demand management, IT human capital management, and running IT like a business.
Craig joined Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group, where he was an original member of Giga's startup team and a codeveloper of Giga's research process and research products. Craig has 30 years of experience in the IT industry. Before joining Giga, he spent 11 years at Gartner Group as an analyst and in management and executive roles. In his last position at Gartner, he was senior vice president and CIO, and was responsible for developing Gartner's electronic delivery strategy and products and migrating its infrastructure from a proprietary mainframe environment to a client/server Unix environment. At Digital Equipment Corporation, Craig managed a consulting business unit focused on the financial services industry, and at Citibank, he managed an applications development group in the finance division. Craig started his career as a developer of real-time communications software.During his career, Craig has consulted with global users and vendors of IT as well as the investment community, and he has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars. Craig has guest lectured at the Anderson Graduate School of Business at UCLA and at the Graduate Business School of Rutgers University. Most recently, Craig has been conducting workshops on strategic IT performance management, incorporating the IT Balanced Scorecard.
Craig earned a B.S. from Rider University, with dual majors in management and organizational behavior and information systems, and attended the Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University.
