CPA Australia: CPA Good Practice Guide
The Good Practice Guide wiki is a collaboration between CPA Australia and its members. It provides a comprehensive array of tools, procedures, templates and checklists that apply to day-to-day business situations. The guide's objectives are to:
The Good Practice Guide was initiated by the members of CPA Australia. Their aim was to provide value by accessing the knowledge of members and documenting good practices for their benefit. Originally launched in Australia in 2007, the guide was updated in 2008 and re-launched in a wiki platform. This allows users to comment directly on any page, begin a conversation with other members around the information, post an update or suggest an improvement. Member review groups check all content for relevancy and ease of use as 'good practices'. CPA Australia recently released its 2009-11 corporate plan and strategy. A core tenet of the strategy is to provide members with ready access to knowledge that enhances their career. Utilising innovative mediums for knowledge exchange with and between members is a key deliverable under the plan. Meeting our members' knowledge needs is a primary function of the organisation. We recognise that technological advancements have significantly altered the way people learn, develop and communicate. This changing knowledge environment provides CPA Australia with an opportunity to reshape our business and to be leaders in knowledge exchange for the advantage of our members. This includes facilitating member-to-member collaboration through the web, enabling them to tap into the collective knowledge of the membership, globally. The CPA Good Practice Guide and the creation of a CPA Australia wiki of member-generated content will enable us to work together and accomplish these business goals. |
