DevCentral

DevCentral is the community site for F5 Networks' technology users, with a primary focus on software development and network staff. While we often have discussions that are relevant to all of enterprise IT, those conversations are the offshoot of the activity and feedback of our core community. We are proud to be the only community out there that truly connects networking professionals with software architects and developers. With the growing need for scalable dynamic networks, communication between these groups is essential and DevCentral has provided a conduit for communication and efficient coordination.

DevCentral was designed to help users get the most out of their IT infrastructure. Our team of four specialists facilitates the sharing of solutions between users with our CodeShare repository, our forums, and our acceptance of user-generated documents as regular content. Users routinely answer questions on the forums, and the best of our CodeShare entries come from users sharing their knowledge.

Since its inception in mid 2003, F5’s DevCentral has grown from a small community of dedicated specialists to 30,000+ IT professionals sharing their experiences, information, and tips in both English and Japanese. To say that the site has been successful would be a massive understatement. DevCentral is often referenced by the press and analysts as a prime example of success at business-driven social networking. More importantly, our users are out there supporting and innovating for each other every day.

Roughly half of our users are from outside North America. Indeed, since January of 2008, DevCentral has been visited by users from 173 countries speaking 113 different languages. These users are sharing information and ideas that might have been trapped in their local geography if not for the community to share those ideas with and get feedback. We support them with the mechanisms, feedback, and encouragement; they support each other with 24/7 activity around the globe.
