Hugo Nájera Alva is Chief Innovation Officer at BBVA and among his day-to-day responsibilities are driving innovation within the Group and identifying projects that promote value proposition development and enabling leadership in the transformation of the financial industry. 

Mr.  Nájera began his professional career in the BBVA Group in 1990 as the person responsible for  stock market analysis in Bancomer (Mexico). He has held management positions in several areas of the Group such as Chief Investment Officer, Head of I&D and Head of Business Development in Global Retail Banking. 

During his career, Mr. Nájera has been actively involved in projects regarding stock markets, payment methods, design of new products, alternative channels or e-business, among others, all of which has allowed him to develop a broad vision of the business. 

He studied Business and Economics and graduated in Business Administration at UAM (Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana), in Mexico City.
