Identity And Access Management: 2012 Budget And Planning Guide

A Review Of Budgets, Spending Intentions, Technology Adoption, And Key Trends

Why Read This Report

To help Forrester clients with their identity and access management (IAM) strategy for 2011, Forrester predicted four significant trends. So how'd we do? We got two right and two half right. Heading into 2012, we're predicting five new trends for the IAM market. They are: 1) IAM budgets will remain at 8% of the overall security budget; 2) security professionals will use mobile devices to support two-factor authentication while addressing the demands from business users for better and more intuitive user interfaces; 3) security professionals will continue to consolidate and standardize internal user directories on Active Directory to minimize costs of operations; 4) the use of identity analytics will grow as security pros see the potential of using insight into risky user behavior to take proactive action; and 5) clarity will come to the alphabet soup of IAM protocols.
