Central And Eastern European Mobile Forecast: 2005 To 2010

by Niek van Veen, Michelle de Lussanet

with Jaap Favier

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Mobile penetration in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) lags that in Western Europe by four years. Adoption varies greatly between countries, depending on mobile market competitiveness, wealth, and the general state of the telecom market. This year, relatively wealthy Slovenia and the Czech Republic will exceed the 2005 mobile penetration rate of France and the UK, while Poland will edge just above Western Europe's 2000 level. GPRS, upgraded with EDGE, will dominate throughout the decade.
