Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Forrester's recent survey of 5,216 online youth reveals that one in five online youth now buy music downloads — and that song sharing is as popular as ever. Though online file-sharing is down since 2003, CD exchange, email, blogs, and local networks bring the song-sharing total to 50% of online youth. Song buyers who also share music spend more on music than any other group — three times as much as those who avoid digital music altogether. These "Promoters" are also more connected and believe themselves to be better style setters than others.
