This is the sixth document in the "European Country IT Services Spending Forecast" series.

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Nordic companies will spend €9.8 billion on IT services in 2007, which places the region fourth in market size in Forrester's European IT services spending forecast after the UK, Germany, and France. Firms here have a mature attitude toward IT, a fact demonstrated by high scores on the Networked Readiness Index and forecast demand for strategic outsourcing advice. IT services spending in the region also reflects the relatively low percentage of large and very large companies — the types of firms that drive a large proportion of IT services spending across Europe as a whole. When it comes to service focus, the market centers on managed services/outsourcing, with application outsourcing taking the biggest chunk. Buyers also support new momentum for BPO, but infrastructure outsourcing continues to lose share, due in part to ongoing commoditization pushing down prices. Project-based spending on packaged application implementation is set to grow, winning share from custom application development.
