IBM Is A Cautious Global Market Leader In Disaster Recovery Services

The Forrester Wave™ Vendor Summary, Q1 2006

by Colin Rankine

with Simon Yates, Thomas Powell

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

IBM offers disaster recovery and business continuity services through its Global Services business unit. On a revenue basis, IBM is second to SunGard for recovery site services, but it currently offers a broader global presence that will appeal to multinationals operating outside of North America and Europe. Not typically the low-cost provider, IBM shows value by bundling technical, industry-specific, or application-specific expertise in recovery solutions. As expected, IBM does have some platform/system bias but has a viable portfolio that warrants consideration in the vast majority of commercial bids.
