Teens Take The Lead On Social Computing

by Chris Charron

with Remy Fiorentino

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Generally, the use of Social Computing tools, particularly blogging, is booming among North American youth aged 13 to 17 years. One in five online youth now regularly read blogs, and 13% publish their own personal blog, compared with just 10% and 6% of adults, respectively. RSS feeds currently suffer from very low awareness among youth and adults, but adoption is poised to grow rapidly as consumers better understand its uses.
