Protegrity Is Looking To Catch Up In The Web Application Firewall Market

The Forrester Wave™ Vendor Summary, Q2 2006

by Michael Gavin

with Jennifer Albornoz Mulligan, Laura Koetzle, Sarah Bernhardt

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Protegrity purchased the assets of Kavado in August of 2005, which was the beginning of its Web application firewall offering. Because it entered the market late, Protegrity trails in this evaluation of the market. On the positive side, Defiance TMS Gateway offers strong policy management techniques and integration with its suite of related security products, such as Defiance DPS and Protegrity VPDisk. However, in order to compete Protegrity must reduce traffic latency, improve its user interface so that it is more intuitive, and implement session flow protection.
