Dutch Online Insurance Sales Forecast: 2006 To 2011

This is the fourth document in the "Forecasting European Online Non-Life Insurance" series

by Benjamin Ensor

with Michelle de Lussanet, Reineke Reitsma, Joost van Kruijsdijk, Ashara Giordanelli

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Dutch consumers don't buy non-life insurance very often. But when they do, they are among the most likely in Europe to use direct channels like the Internet. Even so, Dutch insurers' lukewarm attitude to the channel and the switching barriers faced by many customers mean that absolute online sales volumes will remain relatively small. By 2011, we expect 1.5 million Dutch customers to buy non-life insurance online.
