Taken together, Western and Central Europe is the second-largest market for IT goods and services in the world. However, despite the unifying effects of the European Union, Europe is still in many ways a collection of individual countries. This report provides Forrester's IT market estimates and forecasts for 25 European countries. The UK is now the largest market for IT goods and services, with Germany, France, and Italy next in size. The UK is also the largest market for computer equipment and for software, but Italy is the largest market for communications equipment, and Germany reigns for IT consulting and outsourcing services. Measured in euros, the 2006 growth rate for IT purchases is strongest in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Greece, and the Central European countries.
