European Enterprises Are Slowly Migrating To VoIP (But Expect To Pick Up Speed In 2007)

by Phil Sayer

with Andrew Parker, Andrea Carini, Matthew McCormack

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Like their North American counterparts, European enterprises are continuing to increase their spending on voice over IP (VoIP) technologies. But very few European firms have completed the migration to IP PBXs and IP contact centers. Currently, Europeans lag behind the North Americans in their migration plans; however, they expect to have caught up by the end of 2007. US enterprises cite reliability and compatibility/interoperability as the top two factors influencing VoIP migration. In Europe, cost remains the predominant issue, indicating that putting together the business case for the migration to VoIP remains as problematic as ever. However, Europe is not a homogenous market; there are significant differences between the major countries.
