Holistic View: The ePurchasing Software Market

Strong Growth And Dynamism Despite Maturing eProcurement And eSourcing

This is the sixth document in the "ePurchasing Market" series.

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Vendors have both opportunities and challenges in the dynamic ePurchasing market, with strong double-digit growth projected for 2008 despite a slowing overall IT market. While products like eProcurement and eSourcing are widely adopted and have slower growth, other products like contract life-cycle management, automated spend analysis, electronic invoice presentment and processing (EIPP), services procurement, supplier network services, and supplier performance management have more limited adoption and great growth potential to strategists expanding their business. Ariba, Oracle, and SAP still are the largest vendors with broad offerings — but they control less than half of the total market. In fact, SAP and Oracle have minor or no presence in the fastest-growing segments like EIPP. Opportunity abounds for holistic offerings and specialists in specific products. Expect six new entrants with new value propositions to shake up the market.
