Senior Vice President and Senior Technologist
Rodney Joffe is Senior Vice President and Senior Technologist of Neustar. His responsibilities include defining the technical direction of the company's Internet Infrastructure Services Group as well as heading the company's cybersecurity initiatives.
Mr. Joffe joined Neustar in 2006 after the acquisition of UltraDNS, a directory services company that he founded in 1999. Before founding UltraDNS, Mr. Joffe was the Founder and CTO of Genuity, one of the largest Internet service and hosting providers in the world.
Mr. Joffe is frequently called upon to assist federal authorities with investigating and protecting against cybercrime and cyberterrorist activities. He regularly briefs the executive and legislative branches on these subjects. Mr. Joffe participated on the planning committee for the DHS's CyberStorm II International Cyber-Terrorism exercise in 2008; in 2010, he was a lead on the core scenario design team for CyberStorm III.Mr. Joffe is also a founder of and currently chairs the Conficker Working Group, acknowledged as a best current practice model for public/private partnerships for advanced persistent threat mitigation.
Besides these operational activities, Mr. Joffe is also active in ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee. He is a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Postel Center at USC/ISI, and he is engaged in several Internet engineering organizations.
