Softtek, the best-known Mexican IT service provider, is used to competing head-to-head with both the Indian players and the large multinationals, which is impressive given its relatively small size (about 1,000 people in the SAP practice). Softtek's entry into the SAP market 13 years ago came naturally through its servicing of Latin American aviation, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical clients. Today, Softtek is SAP's largest Latin American SAP services partner, with 20% of its revenues coming from SAP services. Although Softtek is admittedly more focused on the technical implementation portions of an SAP engagement, all of its survey references used Softtek for the higher value pre-implementation consulting portions of their SAP engagement in addition to the technical work. All client references were highly positive about the experience. Clearly, Softtek is making great headway towards the higher-value consulting space.
