Research FocusEllen serves Market Research professionals. She leads a research team that looks at emerging technologies and their impact — like X Internet, prediction markets, serious gaming, and green IT. Ellen also manages Forrester's global telecommunications and networks team. Ellen maintains research interests in helping clients understand the mobile enterprise and next-generation telecom business models and systems. She also participates in research about how companies are adopting the X Internet — the extension of the Internet to physical items. Ellen is a frequent speaker regarding market research best practices, telecommunications, mobile enterprise, and X Internet topics. She often speaks at events, is quoted in business and trade publications like The Wall Street Journal, and has appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. Previous Work ExperiencePrior to joining Forrester in 2005, Ellen spent four years at ArcStream, a boutique mobile and wireless consulting firm to the Fortune 500. Prior to that, she worked in Deloitte's telecom practice. Her projects included architecting large-scale systems for local service provisioning and billing for North American carriers, preparing UMTS bids for the Italian wireless marketplace, and assisting new business entrants into the UK Web hosting market. Prior to Deloitte, Ellen spent 10 years working for the federal government in the Department of Defense (DOD) as an electrical engineer. She worked in wired and wireless communication at the Naval Research Laboratory and SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation).
