Michael Speyer

Forrester Research


Research Focus

Michael serves Technology Product Management & Marketing professionals. He is the lead analyst at Forrester covering small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) and IT distribution channels. He helps Forrester clients understand SMB buyer behavior and develop their SMB go-to-market strategies. His SMB research focuses on IT budgets, technology adoption, spending across a broad range of technologies, and segment analysis. His distribution channels research focuses on understanding channel dynamics, SMB channel preferences, and channel management strategies.

Previous Work Experience

Michael was previously the lead analyst in Forrester's Business Data Services program. This program helps both vendors and corporate IT executives understand in detail North American IT spending, technology adoption, and organizational structures and behaviors.

Prior to joining Forrester, Michael worked at The Yankee Group. He was director of the small and medium business technologies practice, which helped IT vendors and service providers understand the spending, behaviors, and preferences of SMBs. He also served as associate director of the network hardware practice, where he covered both carrier and enterprise network hardware. Michael has also designed and managed IT infrastructures for high-growth companies and worked as a software developer.

Education

Michael holds an M.B.A. from Babson College and B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa).
