The product supports a wide range of deployment sizes, with customers ranging from fewer than 10 to more than 9,000 users. The vendor supplies an open, service-oriented architecture that firms can build on through the no coding-required Sugar Suite, traditional developer tools, or add-ons created by the vendor's community of more than 7,000 developers. Firms should be careful not to mistake open source for free; Sugar provides a free edition of its product targeted at deployments of 10 users and fewer, but larger deployments will need to pay for either Professional Edition or Enterprise Edition, and typically IT support as well.
