As a key strategic entity in any large firm, the enterprise architecture (EA) group requires a strong positive relationship with the ultimate decision-makers — the corporate management organization. Without this relationship, EA professionals will face great difficulty in fulfilling their strategic planning responsibilities and seeing their architecture directions actually followed. Forrester reviewed data from our annual state of EA survey and found that the vast majority of EA groups in large firms (those with 5,000 or more employees) are having difficulty gaining corporate management's support for EA. Forrester isolated responses from firms with strong corporate support to find out what they were doing differently than their peers.
