Why Read This Report

As retail companies evaluate their eCommerce opportunities, establishing a level set of their current strengths and weaknesses is essential. In 2008, Forrester introduced its proprietary eBusiness maturity model, a framework to evaluate your preparedness in driving success through digital transactions. This framework evaluates companies on more than 35 criteria, ranks them against other eBusinesses, and provides a prescriptive approach on what different companies — from the most nascent to the most mature — should do next. As a result of the numerous data points that have helped to hone this framework over the years, we felt this was an appropriate report for the assessment section of the retail eCommerce playbook. This report is an update to the report titled "The eBusiness Maturity Model 2011" that was initially published on October 26, 2011.
