Wolfgang is principal analyst in Forrester's IT sourcing and vendor management practice in Europe. He has built extensive experience in advising clients on outsourcing contracts, with a specific focus on application, infrastructure, and infrastructure-related and consulting services. He has extensive experience in outsourcing strategy, service definition and pricing, RFP design and review, vendor selection support, service transition, contract negotiation support, contract and SLA review, market price analysis, and integration of external providers in existing IT service management environments. Wolfgang supports outsourcing initiatives within a context of multimillion-euro outsourcing contracts.
Wolfgang came to Forrester from Gartner, where he worked as a director consultant and team leader of Gartner's sourcing and benchmarking practice. Before this, he was with META Group as a director consultant. In this position, he worked in the IT operations and benchmarking practice of META Group.
Before META Group, Wolfgang worked for six years as a technical manager at Computer Associates (CA), with responsibility for system management solutions at CA's German strategic accounts. Prior to that, he worked for 11 years for different manufacturing companies in varying roles, including system programmer for IBM mainframe environments and data center manager with responsibility for production control, system programming, network management, and help desk.
Wolfgang was chairman of the META Group Sourcing Conference at Munich, Germany, in July 2004.
Wolfgang received a computer science diploma from the University Dortmund, Germany.
