Event Overview

Overview

Enterprise architecture is a key IT function because of its ability to improve IT strategy and planning, affect efficiency and cost of IT, and improve IT delivery to address business needs. But EA does not do this by itself ¿ success requires the EA group to be effective at motivating IT and the business to take the right actions, whether they use approved technologies, adopt design principles, or follow an application road map.

Metrics are essential for improving EA effectiveness by linking EA actions to the goals of the organization, communicating impact, and uncovering areas where the EA group can improve its delivery. Few EA groups have a measurement plan, but to be successful, they must examine the link between IT goals and their deliverables and derive the metrics that enable increased effectiveness.
