US Online Holiday Retail Forecast, 2014

Online Sales Will Reach $89 Billion This Holiday Season

November 3rd, 2014
With contributors:

Summary

We predict that US online retail sales during the critical months of November and December will be higher than ever. Forrester projects that the online channel will generate $89 billion during that time — a 13% growth over the same time period in 2013. While that figure represents 30% of all the eCommerce spend in 2014, it represents a deceleration in growth due to a shorter holiday selling season and capacity constraints in the package delivery network. This document outlines the factors contributing to growth and challenges to that growth this holiday season for eBusiness and channel strategy professionals.
