Summary

Forrester is expanding the breadth and depth of data that we provide to vendor strategists on the size and growth trends of the market for information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. Our goal is to provide data for vendors on the ICT market by product category, by country and geographic region, by industry, and by size of company. As we do so, we will use a definitive taxonomy of the categories that describe that market in terms of product categories, industries, geographies, and company size. This taxonomy also reflects the impacts of cloud computing, which is creating new ICT offerings that need to fit in existing product categories (new wine in old bottles) as well as into new products (new bottles for new wine). This report defines what Forrester is including in any of our reports on the size and growth of the ICT market, as well as how we are measuring new models for technology such as cloud computing.
