Executive Summary

Apache Cocoon is an XML Web development framework for building a wide variety of Web applications. It is designed around the concept of separation of concerns, allowing designers and developers to collaborate in building complex Web sites. Cocoon has several unique features of its own in addition to leveraging many other Apache projects to deliver complete functionality. The Cocoon community is active, vital, and cohesive. Cocoon is best used by companies that have complex Web application requirements, such as working well with J2EE applications that contain complex logic flows, as well as requirements for flexible data access.
