At the end of 2004, 30% of the North American households we interviewed had either DSL or cable modem broadband services. These households adopted broadband for faster speeds, reliability, and to free up their telephone lines. More than 90% of the broadband users are unwilling to give up broadband connections at home, and less than 10% of the broadband users are interested in switching between cable and DSL providers.
