Executive Summary

Many enterprise software sourcing executives want to reduce the number of business software vendors that they use. These executives often do not consider SAP as a single-source supplier — except for business applications; although SAP has market share leadership in this area and has a portfolio of middleware, it is less comprehensive in the stacks for information management and for architecture and development. Our recent Forrester Wave™ evaluations of business software platforms found all SAP offerings to be either Leaders or Strong Performers with strong market presences. SAP customers will find many opportunities to consolidate their stacks through additional SAP offerings. However, customers that are not committed to a deep use of SAP's stack will find fewer opportunities for consolidating their stacks on SAP's offerings.
