Executive Summary

The most differentiating feature about CA's software change and configuration management (SCCM) solution is not CA Harvest itself but Harvest's integrations with other CA solutions. Since Forrester's 2005 evaluation of this space, CA has also rolled up its sleeves and improved Harvest's capabilities as a standalone offering, and Harvest is more competitive now as a result. It still isn't a Leader, though, as it remains weak on administration, support for geographical distribution, and security features. Shops that use other CA solutions like Endevor, Clarity, Software Delivery, or Service Desk should no longer feel like they're sacrificing for the sake of product integration when they choose Harvest, but they should recognize that there are better SCCM solutions out there.
