Executive Summary

In spite of the existence of many organizational barriers, enterprise architecture (EA) can successfully drive business innovation efforts. However, this must be done through close collaboration with the business units that will be the ultimate beneficiaries of the resulting improvements. Enterprise architects should strive to create symbiotic partnerships with key business personnel in order to maximize potential for identifying business innovation opportunities and then act as a liaison between the business and the rest of IT to ensure their successful implementation.
