Siemens AG has announced that its loss-making Enterprise Networks business (EN), which is part of its Communications Division (aka Siemens Com), is up for sale. The HiPath 8000 is the flagship product of the business and is the focus of Siemens' strategy for open, server-based, unified communications based on session initiation protocol (SIP). Siemens has invested heavily in this key asset and has emphasized its commitment to both the product and its customers in recent statements.
