Dutch consumers don't buy non-life insurance very often. But when they do, they are among the most likely in Europe to use direct channels like the Internet. Even so, Dutch insurers' lukewarm attitude to the channel and the switching barriers faced by many customers mean that absolute online sales volumes will remain relatively small. By 2011, we expect 1.5 million Dutch customers to buy non-life insurance online.
