Executive Summary

Online shopping in the Netherlands is mature and mainstream, with more than half of adults regularly buying online. Books are the most popular category that Dutch Net users buy online, followed by leisure travel, event tickets, and clothing. Despite the current economic downturn, by 2014, nearly 10 million Dutch online shoppers will spend more than €8 billion via the Internet. We forecast that by 2014, leisure flights, consumer electronics, and hotels will account for the most online revenue, with €1.9 billion, €1.7 billion, and €1.1 billion, respectively.
