Executive Summary

A survey of business process and applications professionals about their enterprise application installations indicates significant concerns over a variety of key issues. Cost of ownership perennially tops the list of concerns, but functionality, upgrades, and end-to-end business process support are also very significant. Better technology will address some of these concerns over time, as better process configuration tools and flexibility appear in the packages. Most customers, however, will not see significant improvements unless they invest in major upgrades or replacements with next-generation packages.
