Executive Summary

Oracle, through the recent acquisition of PeopleSoft, now has a full range of capabilities across all key components of CRM, with a strong competence in customer data integration. The acquisition has also strengthened Oracle's position in B2C telecommunications and B2C financial services. Areas of relative weakness include marketing and analytics. Oracle's vision for the CRM market is focused on the integration of the functionality of PeopleSoft into its future Fusion offering, and the promise thereof, and providing technology efficiencies to Oracle customers. The success of this strategy remains to be seen, and Oracle's market strategy for CRM is in a state of flux. Buyers seeking strength in customer data management will be attracted to Oracle.
