In our Forrester Wave™ evaluation of enterprise marketing platforms, SAS finishes as a midrange Strong Performer. SAS's Customer Intelligence suite incorporates several functional applications, including Marketing Automation, Marketing Optimization, and Interaction Management. The suite stands out for its best-in-class data mining, strong integrated analytics, and solid campaign management, but it falls short on marketing planning and resource management, as well as real-time interaction management. Previous releases of Marketing Automation faltered on performance, although SAS's most recent release is reported to have addressed the problems. SAS is a good fit for sophisticated direct marketers in financial services, retail, communications, and media verticals.
