In March 2006, Forrester surveyed 735 landline decision-makers at North American and European enterprises on their adoption plans for site-to-site IPsec VPNs. Overall, adoption has been stable since 2005. We found that business services is the leading vertical for full deployments today — but if we include active rollouts and partial deployments, manufacturing and media, entertainment and leisure join business services as the leaders of site-to-site IPsec VPN deployment. Similarly, the manufacturing and media, entertainment and leisure verticals are the most interested in procuring site-to-site IPsec VPNs as a managed service over the next three years.
