Executive Summary

In the first half of 2007, Forrester surveyed enterprise architects, IT planners, and IT strategists in European financial services firms to get their take on the current state of architecture strategy. The survey yielded three key findings: 1) the clear majority of European financial services firms are working on or planning for renewal — even more so than in 2005; 2) the key initial focal points for renewal have not changed but are more tactical; and 3) renewal budgets are as enormous as predicted.
